Hi Folks,
I am Bob Noe of the class of '66. I was at Harmon in my junior high years from 59 - 62 and know some of you from my sisters years. She is a couple of years ahead of me at the class of '64 and I know some of you through her. She is Glenda Noe and now lives in Tallahassee, FL.

I have never been to a reunion, but have followed many through the Rocket. Sonny Croom was my little league baseball coach and his sister Joan was in my class. I have seen many of the photos of the reunions and have an idea how faces and bodies have changed.

When I learned that the reunion was in NC this year, I decided I wanted to be involved. I emailed Barbara and volunteered to help. She said that some classmates wanted to also visit SC and Myrtle Beach and asked me to arrange something. The following is what I have planned.

Myrtle Beach Strand     For Friday the 20th of July, we are going to leave about 2:oo pm from our hotel on a nice travel bus for South Carolina. BottomThe trip is about two and a half hours. It may be longer as the traffic is sometimes brutal going to the beach in the summer, especially on Fridays. I have asked for a comfortable bus, movie capable. Perhaps we will watch the Big Chill!  This movie was made in Beaufort, SC.

Carolina Opry
We are going to take in a show at the Carolina Opry in North Myrtle Beach. On this particular night they have a 60's theme show.

But first, we are going to try some of the South Carolina's best seafood buffet at
The Original Benjamin's Calabash Seafood Buffet
 in North Myrtle Beach.

Benjamin's is very close to the Carolina Opry in North Myrtle Beach so we will eat around five and then head over to the theater. If we get there early, there is plenty of beach shopping at the Barefoot Landing where the Carolina Opry is located.

The show at the Opry for Friday the 20th is Good Vibrations,  a program of music of the 60's!  How appropriate for the Harmon HS crowd.
Here is a good quote about this place!

"An entertainment phenomenon" (Southern Living Magazine). There are two things that you have to see when you come to the Grand Strand: the ocean, and The Carolina Opry. It’s that simple. The New York Times calls it “A hit with visitors," The New York Post calls it “A Hot Ticket” and USA Today reports it “A Big Hit.” The award-winning show blends two hours of critically acclaimed music, comedy and dance – from Broadway to country, from classic pop to rock’n roll, and gospel to bluegrass. The Carolina Opry is the only show to receive every top tourism award and the only show that has been voted #1 show every year. If you only see one show while you're in Myrtle Beach, it must be the show that brought entertainment to Myrtle Beach - The Carolina Opry."

I think they say it much better than I can.

I have rarely seen any of my class of 66 at any of the events. I have seen older brothers and sisters there. Please tell your siblings of the reunion and let them know it is time to come!

Now as we get closer to the event, I will share more information and even some photos of Harmon that I have found and some I have located around my house!
